Health app Well heralds the future of healthcare

Schlieren, 24th of August 2021 – Switzerland’s comprehensive new digital healthcare platform is ready for launch: the first version of the health app Well can now be downloaded from the Apple app store and Google Play store for trial purposes. The full version of Well will be ready in spring 2022. It will make a major contribution to simplifying digital access to healthcare services for patients and making healthcare processes more efficient.

What health insurance providers CSS and Visana, telemedicine and digital health provider Medi24 and online pharmacy and technology provider Zur Rose Group announced in November 2020 as joint founding partners and financiers is becoming reality: the health app Well is currently in its first version. It will be tested and expanded between now and the end of the year. Everyone resident in Switzerland is invited to participate in an open development process culminating in the full version. Well is now available to download free of charge.

Quick, easy, secure

With just one click, patients have round-the-clock access to individually tailored, quality-tested healthcare services. For example, they can quickly and easily clarify general health issues, use a digital symptom check for a medically supported initial assessment, make an appointment with a telemedicine practitioner and order medication. Further functionalities already in the first version include e-prescriptions, COVID vaccination certificate, preventive care recommendations, a skin check, management of personal documents and a list of medication. The platform meets the highest standards of data protection and security. All personal health data is encrypted and stored in a secure area. App users decide for themselves who has access to what data.

Open, independent platform

“We want our platform to connect all relevant players in the healthcare sector and make lasting changes to the healthcare system. This benefits the entire population by providing easier access to health services as well as more efficient and therefore more cost-effective processes in the healthcare sector,” says Alexander Bojer, CEO of the platform operator Well Gesundheit AG. “We have developed a digital health navigator that meets the highest standards. And this is just the beginning – Well is open to everyone. New partners will continue to be added to enrich the offer for our users.”

Independent company

Well Gesundheit AG was founded by the Well partners at the end of 2020 as a joint-stock company based in Schlieren. Austrian Alexander Bojer, start-up entrepreneur and former adviser at Boston Consulting Group and technology provider Accenture, has held the position of CEO since 1 March 2021. The other members of the Executive Board also come from the IT sector. These are Lukas Stadler as Chief Technology Officer, Stephanie Künzli as Chief Product Officer and Mario Bernasconi, who will be joining the company as Head of Business Development at the end of September.
